Arlington is a large Virginia county directly southeast of Washington, D.C., on the opposite bank of the Potomac River. Arlington is bisected by I-66 and five bridges that span the Potomac, making it easily accessible from any of the county’s diverse neighborhoods. Arlington’s homes for sale are characterized by quiet residential neighborhoods with large, single-family homes and many parks, while the south is more popular with young urban professionals with metro stations and a majority of its commercial development.
 
Many homes in northern Arlington are new constructions, offering attractive contemporary living spaces and diverse architectural styles within walking distance of parks, shops, and schools. In the south, vibrant communities such as Clarendon, Ballston, and Virginia Square feature an eclectic mix of single-family houses, townhomes, and modern condominiums. Beautifully renovated mid-century homes can be found on both sides of the interstate. Arlington is the fifth most affluent county in the country when ranked by median income. The real estate in Arlington has diverse neighborhoods that are home to 237,521 residents, with many commuting to D.C. via metro, car, or bicycle.
 
Spectacular views of Washington, D.C. can be found throughout Arlington. As the tallest building within the Beltway, CEB Tower’s observation deck is the best place to take it all in. Arlington is home to the Pentagon and numerous iconic landmarks, including Arlington National Cemetery and the Marine Corps War Memorial, depicting the raising of the American flag at Iwo Jima. Arlington also enjoys an abundance of green space. 88-acre Theodore Roosevelt Island has miles of trails and a 17-foot-tall bronze statue of the former President. Mount Vernon Trail, Potomac Overlook Park, Roaches Run, and Lady Bird Johnson Park all combine resplendent natural scenery with spectacular views across the Potomac.
